Before our call with Gemma, we’d already put together a few things we thought might be useful for Hatherop Castle – some ad concepts and CRO recommendations aimed at boosting admissions next term.

Some Quick CRO Tips
❌ User journey friction – To reach key conversion points like “Admissions” or “Open Days,” users have to click through one or two extra steps from the Contact page. This adds unnecessary drop-off risk, especially on mobile where attention spans are shorter.
❌ Mobile layout hierarchy – On smaller screens, the layout doesn’t guide the eye to a clear action. Contact details dominate, but the “next step” (booking a visit) isn’t visually prioritised. Without strong visual signposting, users are left to guess where to go next.
❌ Length of Form – You’re missing out on a lot of Open Day signups just with the length of the form, whilst I get it from an admissions perspective, the reality is this form is doing way more harm than good. You’re lowering your conversion rate by 8/9% with every extra form field…
✅ Clear core details – Phone numbers, email addresses, and location information are easy to find and legible.
✅ Strong brand presentation – The visual style is consistent with Epsom’s wider brand, which maintains trust.
